CED in the History of Media Technology |
On May 4, 1983 RCA introduced the J-Line of CED players, which featured automatic motorized load of VideoDisc caddies. RCA announced five new players, although the random access SJT400 wasn't slated for release until the Fall. The high-end model available in May was the SJT300 pictured above, which featured stereo sound and a 5-button infrared remote control. This model retailed for $449.95. The other models were the SJT090 at $299.95, the SJT100 at $349.95, and the stereo SJT200 at $399.95.
